Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Golgari token-swarm strategy commanded by Chatterfang, Squirrel General. It accelerates mana in the early turns before deploying Chatterfang on Turn 3 and establishing a token-generating engine on Turn 4. Chatterfang's replacement effect doubles token output by adding 1/1 green Squirrel creature tokens to every token created, rapidly flooding the battlefield. The deck leverages this wide board state for massive mana production via Jaheira, Friend of the Forest and Cryptolith Rite, repeatable creature suppression using Chatterfang's activated ability, and one-sided board wipes like Swarmyard Massacre. The primary win condition revolves around turning the token army into lethal damage on Turns 6–7 through overrun effects such as Craterhoof Behemoth, Coat of Arms, Banner of Kinship, and Preposterous Proportions, or direct table drain with Mirkwood Bats and Gruesome Fate. Its primary limitations are a lack of stack protection against opposing sweepers and limited card-draw density.
