Deck overview

This Gruul deck exploits Karlach, Fury of Avernus and the Hardy Outlander Background to turn extra combat steps into a powerful pump engine. Karlach untaps all attackers on the first combat, gives first strike, and adds a second combat; Hardy Outlander then repeatedly increases a second creature's power by Karlach's power. Secondary paths include chaining additional combat from Port Razer, Moraug, and Full Throttle, or tutoring equipment with Godo to boost evasion and protection. The deck often wins by taking two to five combat steps in one turn, using trample and first strike to overwhelm blockers. Card draw from power-based sources keeps the game plan resilient.
