Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov aristocrats and lifegain-token strategy commanded by Teysa, Opulent Oligarch. The primary game plan revolves around generating incremental life loss on opponents through early combat and drain triggers, which enables Teysa to investigate at each end step. Sacrificing Clue tokens provides card draw while spawning 1/1 flying Spirit tokens. The deck translates these tokens and lifegain triggers into rapid table-wide attrition using drain pieces such as Mirkwood Bats, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Wispdrinker Vampire, and Starscape Cleric. Token doublers like Thalisse, Reverent Medium and wide token producers like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar accelerate board development into lethal combat and drain thresholds by Turn 8. High-quality removal spells like Anguished Unmaking and Swords to Plowshares keep opposing threats in check, while dense redundancy ensures the deck functions smoothly even without its commander.
