Commander: Grist, the Hunger Tide

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Grist, the Hunger Tide leads a Golgari insect-tribal deck that mills its own library to turn creature cards into tokens, life, and a lethal drain. The primary plan is to build a wide insect board while filling the graveyard, then win with Craterhoof Behemoth or Grist's ultimate. The hidden Grist, Voracious Larva // Grist, the Plague Swarm acts as a second Grist that can transform from the graveyard and create an insect army. Zask, Skittering Swarmlord, Cauldron of Essence, and The Hunger Tide Rises form a recursion engine that keeps the game plan moving after interaction or wraths.
