Deck overview

This deck is a Bant toughness-matters aggressive deck helmed by Arcades, the Strategist. It leverages low-cost defender creatures that double as undercosted beatsticks and cantrips once Arcades is on the battlefield. Early turns focus on establishing mana ramp and laying down high-toughness defenders such as Wall of Omens, Overgrown Battlement, and Sylvan Caryatid. Once Arcades enters play, these defensive walls convert into substantial combat threats that draw cards upon entering. The deck breaks parity on creature combat by casting asymmetric board wipes like Slaughter the Strong, Fell the Mighty, and Wave of Reckoning, which destroy opponents' high-power threats while leaving its own low-power, high-toughness board intact. Game-ending bursts of combat damage are achieved through instant-speed toughness pumps such as Tower Defense and Solidarity. While heavily dependent on Arcades or alternate damage enablers like Assault Formation, the deck maintains steady pressure and robust card flow throughout the midgame.
