Deck overview

This Dimir deck is commanded by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver and focuses on Zombie tribal aristocrats and token attrition. The primary strategy develops early mana rocks and low-cost Zombies, deploys Wilhelt on Turn 4, and uses his ability to double death triggers by turning non-decayed Zombies into 2/2 decayed tokens while drawing cards. On Turn 5, the deck transitions to a must-answer game state by deploying asymmetric suppression like Grave Pact, massive drain engines like Diregraf Captain and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or token transformers like Poppet Stitcher. It closes the game by Turn 6 through mass life drain, unblockable swampwalk combat via Zombie Master and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, or infinite sacrifice loops. The deck features resilience through extensive graveyard recursion, though it remains vulnerable to mass exile effects and dedicated graveyard hate.
