Saint Thalia 📚🕳️ Sphinx's Approach by ScryBaby

Format: Commander

Commander: Geist of Saint Thalia

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 47

Deck overview

This deck is a specialized monoblue combo strategy that exploits a 32-card density of Sphinx's Approach alongside Geist of Saint Thalia in the command zone. The commander provides a constant one-mana cost reduction for all noncreature spells, accelerating mana rocks and enabling Sphinx's Approach to be cast for just {U}{U}. The deck's primary route revolves around resolving Sphinx of the Chimes or Thrumming Stone on Turn 4. Once Sphinx of the Chimes is in play, discarding two copies of Sphinx's Approach draws four cards for zero mana; with one-third of the deck consisting of that exact card, this trigger chains repeatedly across the library. Mana Severance further optimizes the deck by exiling all basic lands to guarantee non-stop hits. Once the library is emptied, the deck resolves Laboratory Maniac or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries and draws a final card to secure an immediate, same-turn victory backed by low-cost countermagic.
