Deck overview

This is an Esper control/drain deck built around Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The core loop is to cast MV3+ noncreature spells to trigger Y'shtola's drain (2 damage to each opponent, 2 life to you), while the life-loss payoffs - Sygg, River Cutthroat, Bloodchief Ascension, Talion, the Kindly Lord, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Papalymo Totolymo, and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose - convert that damage into card draw, more drain, and life. The deck controls the table with a dense counterspell and removal suite, then grinds to a win by multiplying Y'shtola's trigger with copy effects (Irenicus's Vile Duplication, Quantum Misalignment, Mirrorform) and finishing through Bolas's Citadel's sacrifice ability or the Hullbreaker Horror + Sol Ring infinite-mana line. It is a slow, attrition-based deck that wins by inevitability rather than a fast combo.
