Deck overview

This mono-white Voltron deck is commanded by Balan, Wandering Knight, a commander designed to cheat equip costs and deal massive combat damage. The game plan focuses on deploying high-impact Equipment early, casting Balan on Turn 4, and using its {1}{W} activated ability to attach all Equipment instantly. By equipping two or more pieces, Balan gains double strike, turning power buffs like Colossus Hammer and Blackblade Reforged into single-hit knockouts. The deck is backed by equipment tutors, defensive gear providing hexproof and protection, and white's premier spot removal spells. Mass graveyard recursion spells like Open the Vaults, Mantle of the Ancients, and Brilliant Restoration provide insurance against sweepers, allowing the deck to rebuild quickly. The deck's primary strength is lethal single-target burst damage and high combat resilience, while its main weaknesses include reliance on the combat step and vulnerability to edict effects.
