Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir graveyard-control strategy commanded by Araumi of the Dead Tide. The game plan revolves around filling the graveyard with high-utility creatures and using Araumi's encore ability to create three token copies of them—one attacking each opponent. By encoring creatures with discard enter-the-battlefield abilities, such as Burglar Rat, Virus Beetle, and Elderfang Disciple, the deck forces each opponent to discard three cards from a single activation. Chaining one-mana untap spells like Shore Up and Twiddle allows Araumi to encore multiple times in a single turn, completely stripping all three opponents of their hands by Turn 4. Discard payoffs like Liliana's Caress, Megrim, and Entropic Battlecruiser convert this mass hand destruction into lethal life loss. A deep suite of free and efficient counterspells protects Araumi during critical activation turns, while Teferi's Veil phases out token copies to build a permanent attacking army.
