Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Mardu token and aristocrats deck built around repeatedly casting Awaken the Blood Avatar, the sorcery back face of Extus, Oriq Overlord // Awaken the Blood Avatar. The deck focuses on assembling efficient, low-cost token generators in the opening turns, converting small 1/1 creatures into substantial mana discounts for its commander. Upon casting, the commander forces every opponent to sacrifice a creature while generating a 3/6 Avatar token that burns each opponent for 3 life on attack. The deck scales this pressure using combat doublers like Karlach, Fury of Avernus, token multipliers like Thalisse, Reverent Medium, and drain engines like Bastion of Remembrance. Its interaction suite features premier exile-based spot removal and defensive stax pieces like Ghostly Prison and Myrel, Shield of Argive. While resilient and consistent, the deck is vulnerable to mass exile effects and relies heavily on maintaining creature fodder.
