Deck overview

This deck is commanded by Brenard, Ginger Sculptor and focuses on a hybrid Golem tribal and Food aristocrats strategy. Brenard provides a static +2/+2 anthem and trample to all Foods and Golems while turning nontoken creatures that die into 1/1 Food Golem copies. Splicers such as Blade Splicer, Wing Splicer, and Darksteel Splicer generate large artifact armies that benefit from Brenard's buffs and token doublers like Mondrak, Glory Dominus and Adrix and Nev, Twincasters. However, the deck list suffers from a catastrophic mana base constraint: it runs 40 basic Wastes, giving it only four MDFC lands and Arcane Signet to access colored mana. This severely slows down casting colored spells, pushing initial engine assembly to Turn 8 and critical combat onset to Turn 9.
