Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is commanded by Akul the Unrepentant, focusing on converting cheap sacrificial bodies into overwhelming board presence. The primary game plan utilizes low-cost token generators such as Bitterblossom, Dragon Fodder, and Weaponcraft Enthusiast to meet Akul's activation requirement of sacrificing three creatures. By Turn 5, Akul cheats massive game-ending creatures like It That Betrays, Ulamog's Crusher, or Archfiend of Depravity directly from hand onto the battlefield. Supporting aristocrats pieces like Blood Artist, Mayhem Devil, and Mirkwood Bats capitalize on frequent creature deaths to chip away at life totals. While the deck boasts strong creature removal and potent board threats, it relies heavily on natural card draw, lacks countermagic to protect its sorcery-speed activations, and requires multiple combat turns to eliminate all three opponents.
