Deck overview

This Dimir deck utilizes Umbris, Fear Manifest as both a scaling threat and an exile engine. By combining mass exile spells like Tasha's Hideous Laughter, recurring graveyard void effects such as Leyline of the Void and Planar Void, and Nightmare or Horror creature triggers, the deck rapidly inflates Umbris into a lethal one-hit combat threat. Evasion enablers including Brotherhood Regalia, Aqueous Form, The Black Gate, and Shadowspear guarantee commander damage connects unhindered. Defensively, the deck deploys potent asymmetric denial via Opposition Agent, Ashiok, Dream Render, and the Web of Inertia combat lockout. A robust interaction suite of free and low-cost counterspells and spot removal safeguards Umbris while it methodically eliminates opponents one by one.
