Deck overview

This deck is a classic Gruul aggro strategy focused on Wolf and Werewolf tribal synergy led by Tovolar, Dire Overlord. The primary game plan curves out with efficient early creatures such as Reckless Waif and Kessig Naturalist, landing Tovolar on turn 3 to immediately generate card advantage through combat. On turn 4, Tovolar automatically forces nightfall, flipping the pack into their larger, more aggressive nightbound forms. The deck compounds this advantage by drawing multiple cards per turn cycle and scaling threats with lords like Immerwolf, Instigator Gang, and Avabruck Caretaker. It closes games around turns 6 to 8 using combat overruns like Overwhelming Stampede or double strike from Berserkers' Onslaught. While resilient against single-target trades due to strong card replenishment, the deck remains vulnerable to mass board wipes, stack-based combo wins, and fast creature exile.
