Deck overview

This deck is a thematic Jund midrange build paying homage to the history of the black-red-green color identity. Led by the original Elder Dragon Vaevictis Asmadi, the list features iconic multi-color legends and spells spanning the 1994 Legends expansion, Invasion block, Shards of Alara, and Streets of New Capenna. The primary game plan focuses on utilizing early mana rocks and dorks to ramp into heavy dragon beaters and formidable midrange creatures. Threats such as Hellkite Overlord, Broodmate Tyrant, and Vaevictis Asmadi deliver heavy flying combat damage, while flexible Jund charms and removal spells like Riveteers Charm, Unleash the Inferno, and Violent Ultimatum keep opposing boards in check. Symmetrical resource attrition pieces like Destructive Flow and Earthlink punish greedy mana bases. While the deck boasts high individual creature power and backup redundancy, its high mana curve, absence of dedicated tutors, and vulnerability to board wipes require patient sequencing and deliberate combat management.
