Dwarves

Format: Commander

Commander: Thorin Oakenshield

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Built around Dwarves, Equipment, and the 'storied' condition, Thorin Oakenshield leads an aggressive Boros build that turns the corner by suiting up a cheap Dwarf (usually Bruenor Battlehammer, the hidden commander) with free-equip and extra combat effects. The primary plan is to achieve an enduring story by turn 3, then stack equipment on a hasty or double-striking threat; the secondary path is to go wide with Dwarf tokens fed by Fili Pathfinder, Koll, and An Unexpected Party, finishing with Coat of Arms or Dain of Ancient Halls' drain. Thorin himself is a ward-giving enabler and a modest beater, not a required engine. Adventures on An Unexpected Party and Bofur provide flexible spells but follow the same Dwarf/Equipment plan.
