Deck overview

This mono-blue control and token deck is commanded by The Watcher in the Water. The primary strategy focuses on casting the commander on Turn 5, then leveraging an extensive suite of instant-speed card draw spells to create 1/1 blue Tentacle creature tokens during each opponent's turn. As Tentacles are sacrificed, block, or die, they place stun counters on opposing threats and untap Krakens. The deck converts this incremental board advantage into a lethal win condition through high-end sea monster synergies and token multipliers, including Junk Winder for mass tap-downs, Eldrazi Monument for indestructible flying attackers, and Spawning Kraken to rapidly populate the board with 9/9 bodies. A robust interaction suite consisting of counterspells and bounce spells protects the engine while disrupting opposing strategies. While vulnerable to early aggro and resolved noncreature permanents, the deck dominates the late game once its card-draw engine establishes board control.
