Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Dimir tempo and burn build helmed by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary game plan deploys cheap, unblockable 1-drop creatures on Turn 1 and cheats Yuriko into play on Turn 2 via Commander Ninjutsu. By bypassing commander tax and standard spell countermagic, Yuriko creates immediate card advantage and deals heavy, simultaneous life loss to all opponents whenever Ninjas connect. The list integrates topdeck manipulation spells like Brainstorm and Personal Tutor to stack massive mana value cards such as Shadow of Mortality, Dead Drop, and Temporal Trespass on top of the library. Opponents are pressured rapidly on a Turn 4 to 5 clock while a dense suite of free and low-cost counterspells, efficient removal, and asymmetric stax artifacts like Cursed Totem protect the board and disrupt opposing strategies.
