Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Orzhov Angel Reanimator strategy piloted by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine. The primary game plan accelerates mana on the opening turns while filtering large Angel threats into the graveyard using cards like Buried Alive, Angel of the Ruins, and Ripples of Undeath. Once Shilgengar enters the battlefield, sacrificing an Angel produces Blood tokens equal to its toughness. Sacrificing six Blood tokens allows Shilgengar to mass-reanimate the entire graveyard on Turn 5. The returning Angels—led by Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Lyra Dawnbringer, Archangel of Thune, and Serra's Emissary—create a massive flying army with blanket protection and overwhelming combat power. The deck backs up this core plan with alternative reanimation spells like Living Death, potent stax pieces like Drana and Linvala, and efficient Orzhov spot removal, reliably eliminating all three opponents by Turn 7.
