Commander: Jon Irenicus, Shattered One

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Dimir deck is built around Jon Irenicus, Shattered One's ability to donate detrimental creatures to opponents, goading them and drawing cards when they attack. The primary game plan is to deploy creatures with punishing drawbacks (Flesh Reaver, Desecration Elemental, Ebonblade Reaper, Plague Reaver) and give them away at the end step, forcing opponents to manage the chaos while you accumulate card advantage. Secondary win conditions include a massive Exsanguinate fueled by Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, a reanimated Blightsteel Colossus, or Rise of the Dark Realms to take control of all creatures. The deck leans heavily on the commander as its primary draw engine and political tool, but it also packs flexible control elements like Cyclonic Rift, Damnation, and single-target removal to keep the board manageable.
