Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Izzet combo-control list built around The Locust God. It accelerates mana in the early turns using efficient rocks and cantrips before deploying its 6-mana commander on Turn 4 or 5. Once the commander resolves, the deck converts card draw into an overwhelming army of 1/1 blue and red Insect tokens with flying and haste. Symmetrical wheel effects like Wheel of Fortune, Windfall, and Echo of Eons act as explosive burst engines that simultaneously disrupt opposing hands, refill resources, and generate immediate swarms. The primary win condition is a compact two-card loop with Sage of the Falls, which draws the library and generates 60+ hasty flyers to eliminate all opponents in a single combat step. Alternatively, burn engines like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, and Psychosis Crawler turn card draw and token entry into direct damage. Free interaction spells like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat protect key windows.
