Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu Vampire tribal strategy commanded by Edgar Markov. Leveraging the Eminence ability from the command zone, the deck creates a free 1/1 black Vampire creature token whenever any Vampire spell is cast. This rapid token generation establishes wide board pressure by turn 3. The deck transitions into lethal territory around turn 5 through combat damage augmented by anthems like Legion Lieutenant, +1/+1 counter engines like Cordial Vampire, and mass drain effects such as Sanctum Seeker and Malakir Bloodwitch. Supported by a deep and flexible suite of targeted removal, the list effectively polices opposing threats while pushing damage across multiple opponents. Its primary vulnerabilities stem from a lean 30-land base and high reliance on a wide creature board that remains exposed to sweepers across multiple turn cycles.
