Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck leverages Fire Lord Azula to convert combat attacks into explosive storm turns and combo finishes. Built around dense two-mana ramp, efficient cantrips, and low-cost interaction, the deck establishes Azula on Turn 3 and attacks on Turn 4. Declaring attackers triggers Firebending 2 for two red mana while enabling Azula's ability to copy every spell cast during combat. Doubling instant-speed rituals like Desperate Ritual and card draw like Frantic Search generates overwhelming mana velocity and card advantage. The deck quickly translates this momentum into a decisive same-turn finish, using an Azula-copied Brain Freeze to mill all opponents or executing an infinite copy-damage loop with Ral, Storm Conduit and Expansion // Explosion. A deep suite of cheap countermagic and targeted hexproof protection shields the engine, while alternative magecraft win lines ensure high resilience when the commander is contested.
