Deck overview

This deck helmed by Maralen, Fae Ascendant is a Sultai Elf/Faerie tribal deck that wins primarily through overwhelming combat or the activated ability of Lathril, Blade of the Elves. Maralen provides a steady stream of card advantage by exiling cards from opponents' libraries and letting you cast one per turn for free, scaling with your Elf/Faerie count. The deck leverages an army of mana dorks, token generators (Elvish Promenade, Lathril, Bitterbloom Bearer) and token doublers (Doubling Season, Parallel Lives) to amass a critical mass of creatures. Secondary win conditions include draining opponents with Lathril s ability or using Altar of the Brood to mill out opponents. While the commander offers value, the core elf synergy is self sufficient, and the deck can pivot between combat and the Lathril drain line.
