Life is a Resource by CapnBluebear01

Format: Commander

Commander: Mister Negative

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Mister Negative is a life-total manipulation deck that turns paying life and lifegain into card draw and opponent life loss. The primary plan is to deploy a drain engine such as Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, or Vizkopa Guildmage, then use the commander's ETB to swap life totals and draw/tutor into Beacon of Immortality to double your life and finish. Secondary lines include Tree of Perdition plus Wound Reflection and a Pain's Reward/Children of Korlis burst. The commander is both an ETB payoff and an emergency life reset; the deck can function somewhat without him thanks to independent drain pieces, but his swap accelerates the finish.
