Commander: Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Izzet discard-synergy deck, helmed by Captain Howler, Sea Scourge, weaponises looting and rummaging effects to pump a creature and draw cards each combat. The primary game plan is to deploy the commander, fill the graveyard through cheap draw-discard spells, then use combat tricks (Twinferno, Insult // Injury) and extra-combat effects (Fear of Missing Out) to close with commander-damage or incremental burn from Brallin, Skyshark Rider. The deck couples a dense interaction suite (counterspells, bounce, artifact removal) with value-generating discard triggers like Monument to Endurance and Professional Face-Breaker, aiming to grind out card advantage while punching through with an ever-growing shark. Secondary paths include Tellah, Great Sage's board-sweeping fireball and Fiery Encore for reach.
