Commander: The Astonishing Ant-Man

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a +1/+1 counter-based token deck helmed by The Astonishing Ant-Man, leveraging card draw to fuel its counter generation and then converting those counters into a swarm of Insect tokens. The primary game plan involves drawing cards to trigger the commander's passive counter placement, deploying support pieces that double or multiply counter effects (Doc Samson, Super Psychiatrist, Growth Curve), and eventually overwhelming opponents with a wide board of tokens plus trample from Training Regimen or Unnatural Growth. Secondary threats come from large creatures like Ulvenwald Hydra and Unctus, Grand Metatect providing artifact synergy. The deck lacks explosive infinite combos and instead wins through incremental combat damage, with Defense of the Heart acting as a conditional tutor for two creatures.
