Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Grixis Aristocrats Control strategy built around Sauron, the Dark Lord. The deck leverages Sauron's oppressive passive abilities to turn opposing actions into board presence, amassing an Orc Army whenever an opponent casts a spell. By attacking with an evasive Ring-bearer Army, Sauron consistently filters through the deck, discarding depleted hands to draw four fresh cards each turn cycle. The game plan accelerates into Sauron on Turn 4 via low-cost mana rocks, Dark Ritual, and efficient fixing. Once established, the deck converts disposable Army tokens into lethal value through sacrifice engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Warren Soultrader, and Goblin Bombardment. Life drain payoffs including Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Mayhem Devil systematically deplete opposing life totals while controlling the board. An elite suite of free protection, premium counterspells, and flexible sweepers shields the engine, culminating in a resilient Turn 7 table elimination.
