Deck overview

This deck is a resilient Grixis Midrange strategy centered on Sauron, the Dark Lord, leveraging the Ring tempts you mechanic to generate massive card advantage and fill the graveyard. Early turns focus on establishing mana rocks and resolving Sauron ahead of curve. Once on the battlefield, Sauron punishes opponent spell casts by amassing an Orc Army with built-in Ward protection. Combat connections with the Army trigger the Ring, allowing you to discard high-cost bombs like Toxrill, the Corrosive, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Ancient Brass Dragon into the graveyard and draw four fresh cards. The deck then pivots into reanimation spells like Reanimate and Breach the Multiverse, or overwhelms the table through six scaling Nazgûl. Supported by free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Force of Negation, the deck steadily grinds down life totals while crippling opposing boards.
