Deck overview

This is a mono-black lifegain-and-drain deck built squarely around Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. The primary plan is to land Vito, find Exquisite Blood through the deck's tutor suite, and then convert any single life-gain event-Vito's own activated lifelink attack, an extort trigger from Crypt Ghast, or a Blood Artist death trigger-into an infinite drain loop. The 99 backs this with a deep aristocrats sacrifice shell featuring Viscera Seer, Reassembling Skeleton, and token producers, plus a reanimation package for Kokusho, the Evening Star and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Bolas's Citadel and Aetherflux Reservoir offer a second lifegain-based engine, while Exsanguinate and Torment of Hailfire provide big-mana finishers. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth with Cabal Coffers gives the deck a powerful late-game mana engine.
