Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue Merfolk kindred tempo and aggro build commanded by Emperor Mihail II. The primary strategy centers on establishing early board presence with low-cost Merfolk, utilizing Mihail's ability to play creatures directly from the top of the library, and creating a swarm of Merfolk tokens. The deck converts this wide creature base into lethal pressure through dense lord effects such as Lord of Atlantis, Master of the Pearl Trident, and Vodalian Hexcatcher, granting substantial stat buffs and unblockable attacks via Islandwalk. Mana disruption from Harbinger of the Seas and Spreading Seas ensures all opponents control Islands to guarantee evasion. Card advantage engines like Kindred Discovery, Bident of Thassa, and Seafloor Oracle refill the hand on combat damage, while efficient counterspells and asymmetric sweepers like Raise the Palisade and Cyclonic Rift protect the board and clear opposing blockers to close out the game.
