Deck overview

This is a Grixis artifact-sacrifice engine deck helmed by Ashnod the Uncaring, built almost entirely around the commander's one trick: copying any activated ability that costs a sacrificed permanent. The deck churns through a shell of roughly nineteen sacrifice-draw artifacts - Chromatic Sphere, Aether Spellbomb, Mind Stone, Soul-Guide Lantern, and their kin - turning each crack into a two-card draw once Ashnod is in play. A recursion spine of Scrap Trawler, Myr Retriever, Junk Diver, Workshop Assistant, Emry, Lurker of the Loch, and Scrap Welder keeps the engine feeding itself, and the primary kill is table-wide damage from Mayhem Devil and Psychomancer once a sacrifice loop goes critical. Backup plans include Spine of Ish Sah recursion for permanent control and incremental token beats from Sai, Master Thopterist and Ravenous Robots. Ashnod is a 4-mana 1/4 deathtoucher with no protection, but he is cheap to recast; he is the accelerator, while the functional "hidden commanders" are Scrap Trawler and Mayhem Devil.
