Deck overview

Fire Lord Azula is a Grixis spellslinger deck built around Azula's two combat-tied abilities: she produces red mana when she attacks, and every spell cast while she is attacking is copied. That pairing turns a single combat step into a miniature storm turn-rituals, cantrips, and burn spells double while her mana refunds part of the cost. The deck packs a dense suite of ritual effects (Dark Ritual, Seething Song, Desperate Ritual, Jeska's Will, Mana Geyser), storm payoffs (Grapeshot, Brain Freeze, Thousand-Year Storm), and magecraft engines (Birgi, God of Storytelling, Storm-Kiln Artist, Veyran, Voice of Duality, Ashling, Flame Dancer) to chain spells into a lethal storm count or a giant Torment of Hailfire. Backup plans include commander-damage beats from Azula with copy-storm backup, Necropotence-fueled card advantage, and the Dualcaster Mage + Twinning Staff infinite-copy line. The low land count is offset by an unusually high density of fast mana, rituals, and impulse draw, making this a turbo-style deck that wants to win before the table can stabilize.
