Deck overview

Rootha, Mastering the Moment leads an Izzet spellslinger deck that converts high-mana instants and sorceries into massive flying, hasty Elemental tokens. The deck ramps on early turns using artifacts and cost-reducers before casting Rootha on Turn 4. On Turn 5 and Turn 6, it casts impactful spells—often discounted via delve, convoke, or treasure generation—to trigger Rootha and secondary token engines like Manaform Hellkite, Prismari Pianist, and Rionya, Fire Dancer. The deck closes games through scaling aerial combat, multiplied by finishers such as Surge to Victory, Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, and Collective Inferno. While the deck features robust card draw and strong resilience through redundant token generators, it lacks specific tutors and stack-based protection, leaving its multi-turn combat clock vulnerable to well-timed interaction.
