Deck overview

This deck is commanded by Baron Helmut Zemo, utilizing a heavy self-mill and dredge engine to cheat massive black spells into play. Zemo's Boast ability allows you to exile black cards from your graveyard with 15 or more black mana symbols among them, copy them, and cast up to three copies without paying their mana costs. The list is packed with high-pip bombs like Doomsday Excruciator, Pox Plague, and Zodiark, Umbral God that rapidly meet the 15-pip threshold in just three cards. Early turns focus on accelerating mana, casting Zemo on Turn 3, and filling the graveyard through connive, dredge, or targeted entomb effects like Buried Alive. On Turn 5, Zemo attacks to trigger Boast, casting game-ending spells for free that strip opponents' hands, libraries, and boards while deploying overwhelming armies. Even without Zemo, traditional reanimation spells provide a lethal backup plan.
