Deck overview

This is a **BUG poison/proliferate** deck helmed by Xavier Sal, Infested Captain. The primary game plan is to accelerate poison counters on all opponents through a dense suite of proliferate effects, infect creatures, and direct poison-granting spells. Xavier serves as a flexible engine: his first ability populates creature tokens (typically Saprolings or infect tokens), while his second ability proliferates by sacrificing a creature. The deck wins by reaching ten poison counters on each opponent via combat damage from infect creatures (Blighted Agent, Bloated Contaminator, Hand of the Praetors) or by repeatedly proliferating after spells like Ichor Rats and Prologue to Phyresis. Triumph of the Hordes and Vraska, Betrayal's Sting's ultimate provide alternate finishing lines. The deck is a grindy, incremental-value strategy that relies on card flow and proliferate triggers rather than fast combos.
