Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue spellslinger control strategy commanded by Eluge, the Shoreless Sea. The primary game plan accelerates into Eluge on Turn 3 or 4, placing flood counters on lands whenever Eluge enters or attacks. Each flood counter reduces the mana cost of the first instant or sorcery spell cast on each player's turn, allowing you to cast powerful countermagic, removal, and draw spells for free or a single blue mana during every opponent's turn. Supported by cost reducers like Baral, Chief of Compliance and card-advantage engines like Archmage Emeritus and Wavebreak Hippocamp, the deck easily outvalues the table. Once firm control is established, win conditions like Shark Typhoon, Deekah, Fractal Theorist, and an unblockable, high-power Eluge close out the game over two combat cycles, backed by a wall of discounted counterspells and asymmetric bounce spells like Cyclonic Rift.
