Saruman Spellslinger by user9294069

Format: Commander

Commander: Saruman, the White Hand

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Grixis spells-matter deck engineered around Saruman, the White Hand's amass trigger: every noncreature spell cast - cantrips, rituals, burn, and X-cost finishers - fattens a single Orc Army token that becomes the deck's primary weapon. The deck then converts that Army into table damage through Fling, Soul's Fire, Chandra's Ignition, and Essence Harvest, or makes it unblockable with Rogue's Passage and Slip Through Space before a Temur Battle Rage double-strike swing. A magecraft shell of Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, Veyran, Voice of Duality, and Harmonic Prodigy turns each spell into extra cards and mana, while Thousand-Year Storm and Isengard Unleashed provide the explosive ceiling. This is a classic mid-power synergy deck: capable of threatening a win by turn 6-7 on a strong draw, but reliant on one Army token and one commander to reach critical mass.
