Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius Group Hug and Control strategy led by Sokrates, Athenian Teacher. The game plan revolves around generating immense card advantage for the entire table while using pillowfort pieces like Ghostly Prison, Sphere of Safety, and The Second Doctor to ensure opponents attack each other rather than you. By turning combat damage into mutual card draw with Sokrates and leveraging untap engines like Drumbellower and Sting, the Glinting Dagger, the deck rapidly cycles through its library. It converts this mutual card draw into a win using asymmetric payoffs like Psychosis Crawler, Chasm Skulker, Shabraz, the Skyshark, and Laboratory Maniac. A robust suite of free and efficient counterspells, targeted removal, and board wipes ensures that you can protect your board and survive until your draw engines drain the table.
