Deck overview

This Esper deck blends Zombie tribal aristocrats with a resilient planeswalker control suite, commanded by Nevinyrral, Urborg Tyrant. The early game focuses on deploying fast mana, cheap zombies, and card-draw engines such as Skullclamp, Undead Augur, and The One Ring. During the mid-game, the deck establishes incremental advantage and board control using sacrifice engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Warren Soultrader alongside planeswalkers such as Ashiok, Dream Render and Narset, Parter of Veils. If opponents build threatening boards, Nevinyrral, Urborg Tyrant acts as a reset button that wipes artifacts, creatures, and enchantments while setting up post-wipe Zombie armies. The deck closes games around Turn 6 by executing an infinite drain loop with Gravecrawler, Phyrexian Altar or Warren Soultrader, and Wayward Servant or Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER, or by recurring Gray Merchant of Asphodel to drain the entire table.
