Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir forced-combat and stax control strategy led by Jon Irenicus, Shattered One. The game plan revolves around playing undercosted, high-power creatures with severe negative drawbacks—such as Phyrexian Soulgorger, Desecration Elemental, Archfiend of the Dross, and Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore—and immediately donating them to opponents at your end step. Jon makes these creatures permanently goaded, gives them two +1/+1 counters, and prevents them from being sacrificed. This forces opponents to attack each other while suffering devastating upkeep attrition, such as sacrificing their own boards, losing life, or being unable to attack with other creatures. Meanwhile, Jon draws cards whenever these gifted creatures attack, rapidly refilling your hand with defensive pillowfort tools like Propaganda and Dissipation Field to ensure you stay untouched until opponents eliminate each other.
