Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats/combo deck helmed by Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, built to weaponize his activated ability - sacrifice a creature, pay 1 life, put a -1/-1 counter on a creature, and draw a card. The core plan is to pair Yawgmoth with undying/persist creatures (Butcher Ghoul, Geralf's Messenger, Putrid Goblin, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed) so the -1/-1 counter cancels the +1/+1 counter and the loop runs forever, converting each sacrifice into a drain trigger from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Vindictive Vampire, or Ayara, First of Locthwain. Backup wins live entirely in the 99: Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Walking Ballista for infinite damage, and Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar + a drain payoff. Fast mana (Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Culling the Weak, Sacrifice, Sol Ring) plus a dense tutor suite (Vampiric Tutor, Diabolic Intent, Wishclaw Talisman, Entomb/Unmarked Grave with reanimation) make the deck fast and relentlessly consistent.
