Deck overview

This is a tempo-oriented Izzet discard-aggro deck helmed by Captain Howler, Sea Scourge. The core plan discards cards to massively pump a threat (often an unblockable rogue or the commander himself), connects for combat damage to refill the hand, and loops the process. Secondary pressure comes from discard-payoff burn engines like Brallin, Skyshark Rider, Glint-Horn Buccaneer, and Magmakin Artillerist, plus infect via Blighted Agent and a late Fling. The deck runs a dense suite of loot effects, cycling lands, and evasive one-drops rather than infinite combos or heavy ramp. Captain Howler, Sea Scourge is the primary pump-and-draw engine but the 99 still functions as a looting midrange deck if he is removed. Wins come through repeated evasive combat and incidental drain rather than a single explosive turn.
