Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black stax and attrition strategy commanded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The game plan revolves around casting symmetrical discard and sacrifice spells to completely strip opponents of their hands and battlefield resources, while Tergrid's triggered ability steals every discarded or sacrificed nontoken permanent. Dense redundancy across low-cost creatures like Burglar Rat and Plaguecrafter, alongside heavy sorceries like Delirium Skeins and Awaken the Erstwhile, ensures the engine runs consistently without relying on tutors. Once Tergrid hits the board on Turn 4 or 5, resolving a single mass discard spell typically produces a decisive swing in board state and card advantage.
