Deck overview

This mono-black Aristocrats deck is commanded by Ayara, First of Locthwain, functioning as an engine that transforms creature sacrifices into card advantage and continuous life drain. The primary game plan establishes Ayara on turn 3, followed by recurring creature generators like Ophiomancer, Dreadhorde Invasion, and Reassembling Skeleton on turn 4 to draw cards while chipping away at opposing life totals. In the midgame, the deck leverages high-devotion payoffs such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Bolas's Citadel to create explosive life swings and close out the table by turn 8. Interaction is backed by flexible removal like Withering Torment and asymmetric edicts via Braids, Arisen Nightmare and Massacre Wurm. While the deck lacks universal tutors, stack interaction, and artifact removal, its deep functional redundancy and resilient graveyard recursion allow it to grind down opponents steadily through inevitable attrition.
