Machine Gunnery by TheItalianStallion

Format: Commander

Commander: Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Izzet "discard-matters" engine helmed by Captain Howler, Sea Scourge, a 4-mana 5/4 with ward that turns every dropped card into a +2/+0 pump and every combat hit into a fresh card. The deck runs one of the densest collections of draw-then-discard spells in the format - Faithless Looting, Careful Study, Cathartic Reunion, Thrill of Possibility, Windfall, Merfolk Looter, Kitsa, Otterball Elite, and more - with the graveyard functioning as a second hand through Underworld Breach, Containment Construct, Inti, Seneschal of the Sun, and Conspiracy Theorist, while Anger and Wonder grant haste and flying from the yard. Wins come in two forms: a massively pumped commander barreling through extra combats from Fear of Missing Out and Seize the Day, or a single mass-discard turn where Glint-Horn Buccaneer, Brallin, Skyshark Rider, Magmakin Artillerist, Spider-Man, New Champion, and Monument to Endurance burn the whole table at once. A mid-speed value engine with burst finishes.
