Deck overview

This is a focused mono-black combo deck built around Acererak the Archlich. The primary game plan is to assemble a dense stack of cost-reducing permanents-Heartless Sumoning, Jet Medalion, Urza's Incubator, The Sibsig Ceremony, and others-so that Acererak becomes free or net-positive to cast in a single turn. Once he costs {0} (or generates mana from Carnival of Souls), looping his ETB via his own "venture into the dungeon" return trigger or via Culling the Weak/Warren Soultrader creates endless cast triggers. These are leveraged by Tendrils of Agony (storm lethal), Cabal Paladin (historic-triggered damage), Ayara, First of Locthwain (drain per black creature), or Tinbones Joins Up (mill+life loss) to eliminate all opponents in one extended turn. The deck backs its combo with an extraordinary tutor density-over a dozen searh effects-and powerful draw engines like Necropotence to ensure it consistently finds its pieces.
