Format: Commander

Commander: Mizzix of the Izmagnus

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a combo-focused Izzet spellslinger deck built to turn Mizzix of the Izmagnus's experience counters into a critical-mass cost-reduction engine. It ramps into Mizzix, uses proliferate spells and X-draw spells to grow experience counters, then uses reduced costs to chain instants and sorceries into an infinite or storm kill. The primary deterministic wins are the Reiterate + Comet Storm buyback copy loop and the Niv-Mizzet, Parun / Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Curiosity / Tandem Lookout draw-ping loop. Thousand-Year Storm, Ral, Storm Conduit, Apex of Power, and Metallurgic Summonings provide powerful storm and value fallbacks. It is a high-draw, high-interaction deck whose main structural limitation is the near-total absence of tutors.
