Deck overview

This Gruul deck leverages Toph, Hardheaded Teacher to transform lands into aggressive, resilient creature threats via the earthbend mechanic. By casting low-cost ramp spells and Lessons on early turns, the deck turns basic lands into 0/0 creatures with haste and +1/+1 counters that return to the battlefield tapped if destroyed. Counter multipliers like Branching Evolution and Hardened Scales rapidly scale these animated lands into massive threats. In the mid-game, card engines like Greater Good and Terrasymbiosis keep the hand full while combat enablers like Toph, Greatest Earthbender and Moraug, Fury of Akoum grant double strike and additional combat phases.
